Chelsea Galleries Flock to REVEAL in Saratoga

by Hannah Kymila Bär De La Viña

As the popularity of art fairs surges, the thirst for sophistication and true curatorial vision grows. For the last 5-10 years, Hamptonites have been migrating upstate alongside the city’s tastemakers. These three galleries lead the way, as we transition away from the mass-market model and trim the fat to REVEAL a new Art Fair for like-minded collectors in the Contemporary market:

Taglialatella Galleries

A must-see gallery in the heart of Chelsea, Taglialatella Galleries, New York is the bloodline to international Pop & Street Art in Manhattan. Founder Dominic J. Taglialatella is not one to shy away from neon or the drips of fresh aerosol, and his curatorial cues at the fair in Saratoga will be indicative for collectors in the international Street Pop niché. With a direct line to artists such as Invader, ZEVS, Swoon and Jim Dine; and representing artworks by legends Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein — it is at the top of our list for the REVEAL International Contemporary Arts Fair. Since 1976, Kathryn Markel has offered the New York City and Hamptons arts communities a palette of clean lines and minimalist form. The gallery is known for such Organic Abstractionists as Fran Shalom, Ana Zanic and Joanne Freeman. The sensibility fits the bill for upstate eyes, as the gallery aesthetics are consistently understated and elegant. Susan English’s geometric landscapes are a breed of their own, with soft earth-toned horizons offering viewers a visual cleanse from the modern cluster. For inquiries contact: [212.366.5368].

Emmanuel Fremin Gallery

The provocative Emmanuel Fremin Gallery in Chelsea is a trusted resource for the international collector. With an interdisciplinary group of artists, the common threads at Emmanuel Fremin are tension and an eye for the unexpected. Italian Sculptor Maurizio Savini is known for his bubblegum renderings of Americana themes, musing “pink represents artificiality – when you see it, you associate it with a fake world.” The gallery also represents Antoine Verglas, who notoriously photographed our current First Lady, Melania Trump in the buff for GQ. Eyes wide open for the gallery’s presence in the Hudson Valley... For inquiries call 212.279.8555.
